Excitement does not even begin to describe how I feel! I cannot believe how much I have done since I came to Marquette a year and a half ago—specifically since this August!
I went from a low GPA and nothing but food service on my resume to a girl with a 3.625 and four awesome jobs—two of which are legitimate experience for my future career and two which help boost my credibility and prove that I’m awesome and can truly adapt to any setting.
I also went from just being a competitor to the VP and co-founder of a team, VP of Fundraising in PRSSA, and an accepted member of a National Communications Honor society.
How did this happen?! Things had looked so dismal this past summer (side note: Was summer really only three months ago? It seems like it’s been at least seven months since summer hit us…). Just goes to show what hard work and determination can accomplish…and a 5th year of college. ;)
Can’t wait to reward myself with only 12 credits of in-class schoolwork next semester! Now, if I can just make it through to the second week of December…then I’ll know that I can truly do anything.

And it’s awesome. What a fascinating person/brilliant artist! I’ll never get sick of reading/writing/researching anything related to him, his life, and his music. This one is for my visual communications class, and I get to analyze his ‘02 Rolling Stone cover. It’s supposed to be a 3-5 page paper. I’m probably going to hit 6. And that’s only because I’m restraining myself.
My TA is excited to read it. I gave him an overview of what I’d be going over, which he said would “definitely produce a very interesting paper”.

I HAVE LANDED AN INTERNSHIP. AND IT’S PAID. AND I’LL BE DOING EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO BE DOING WHEN I GRADUATE.
I can hardly believe it! Just goes to show you what you can accomplish if you keep at it and never give up. This confirms that transferring to Marquette was the right thing for me to do. I feel like I’ve been holding my breath underwater for a year and I’ve finally swum to the top. My lungs are once again filled with air and I can breathe!
This is going to be an amazing experience. I cannot wait to start on Monday!
I am going to be able to get a job when I graduate.
AND IT’S GOING TO BE IN MY FIELD.
Thank you God, thank you Marquette, thank you Milwaukee, and thank you Primum!!
Final year of college, you are intense.
